TRAVEL: Spring in Whistler

In my opinion, Whistler is a must see when you are in the area of Vancouver. I always had the wish to go there but never thought it would get real since time here is limited. Then, when we booked our Vancouver city tour we found out that it is possible to do a day trip to Whistler, including a tiny city tour and a few stops on the way. Honestly, I have no idea why I didn’t think that this would be a possibility but I am so happy my parents wanted to see Whistler as well and so that is what we did.

At the beginning of the tour we drove a bit through Stanley Park, saw the skyline and a few other sightseeing spots which was pretty cool and a sneak peek to our city tour the next day.

The thing about Whistler is that not only Whistler is a beautiful place but also the way up there is more than gorgeous. All the mountains, islands, the ocean and the wildlife you can see is so pretty, I can’t describe in words.

And you can get an amazing view of the city itself.

On the way up we stopped at the Shannon Waterfalls where Twilight, The Hunger Games and Divergent were filmed. Definitely a recommendation!

The most interesting thing about Whistler is for sure the little village. No cars, a lot of shops and a the cutest atmosphere. We just walked around, shopped a little bit, had lunch and watched the skiers come down the hill.

You could also go up the mountain with the gondola and get a beautiful view over the mountains but we decided to spend the day in the village, enjoy the sun and don’t have to worry about coming down to late.

All in all I would definitely recommend going to Whistler if you have the chance. The way up there with all the Canadian nature and the little, cute village on top of the mountain is totally worth the money and if you like to ski, then, well, I would say jackpot 🙂
