Feeling good in my skin with Organic Basics

Hi loves, I hope you are having a great week so far. I meant to write this blog post for a few weeks now but first I was too busy taking my exams and then I didn’t like the pictures I wanted to use for this post. So, today, I sat up a little (okay, really tiny) studio in my room and took some pictures which turned out very cute, in my opinion.

For this post, I wanted to properly introduce you to Organic Basics*. I know, I have mentioned them a lot before but today I would like to give you a little background story on the company and talk about their values and goals.

Who are Organic Basics?

Organic Basics was founded by four Danish friends back in 2015. They noticed that there was a lack of sustainable underwear and basics which inspired them to found their own label. They are now based in Copenhagen and have grown a lot since the start. They told me that their team now consists of many different nationalities which made me so happy for some reason and in my opinion that also shows in their collections.

About themselves they say:

The fashion industry is a dirty bastard. So we put sustainable thinking at the center of everything – that means we only choose fabrics that care for our environment and we only ever partner with factories that care about their impact, too.
When we say sustainability is our core mission we don’t mean that sustainability is nice to have – we mean that it’s the only way we act.

Why I love them so much

Do you know that one piece in your closet which every you put it on and look at your reflection int the mirror, you feel pretty, confident and simply good in your skin? Yeah, that’s exactly how I feel with every single piece I own by Organic Basics. I am not saying this because I collaborate with them. Ask my friends and family. I literally don’t wear anything else anymore. Be it undergarments, t-shirts or workout pants. I’ve never felt more comfortable in my skin and I think you can see it in the pictures as well, plus the music was really good, I’ve listened to 😀

Their fabrics are handpicked based on their environmental influence and durability. They use GOTS certified organic cotton from the coast of the Aegean Sea which is known as the softest and durable cotton in the world. Definitely, agree with that! Organic Basics only produces in trusted, certified factories which insure no forced and child labour, doable working hours and a wage which a person can actually live from.

A quote which stuck to my mind while I was scrolling through their website was

The GOTS standard also guarantees that the people that made this are paid living wages and treated like humans.

It made me sick reading about all the people who died after the Rana Plaza Collapse in 2013 and it showed again how important a safe working space is and to realize that workers are humans and not machines. If you are interested, you can actually have a look at all of their factories. Very, very interesting!

My Favorite Pieces

Oh boy, oh boy…it’s like choosing a favourite child 😛

Okay, so I’ve always been a big fan of their basic, cotton Tees. I don’t like T-shirts when they are too tight on me and to be honest, I was a little scared when I first ordered their Women’s Tee*. I thought it would be a tight fit but let me tell you, it’s definitely not. I don’t know how but it fits perfectly. Not too tight, not too loose and the fabric feels amazing on your skin. Since I loved the white so much, I ordered another white one and a black one which I love just as much.

Just a few months ago Organic Basics came out with their Soft Touch TENCEL™ collection. And with soft, they really mean soft. Like the softest of soft. I’ve never felt something like this fabric before and am obsessed with the TENCEL™ Lite Bralette* and Lite Singlet*. So freaking comfortable and cute.

Other pieces I love:

Now, tell me, what is your favourite piece?
